About
With former Audi designer taking the helms of Kia Motors, we set out to develop a new way to showcase its next phase of branding transformation. We reconcepted, redesigned, and rebuilt Kia.com from the ground up, creating a fully responsive site packed with rich story-telling, interactive modules, and digital sales tools. A mobile-first approach paved the way for an intuitive user flow from browse, to discover, to research and to configure.
Vehicle navigation
Through research and testing, we discovered that the vast majority of visitors to the site were in search of a specific vehicle. We saw an opportunity to surface vehicles directly into mobile navigation, giving users quick access to the most viewed pages. By focusing on small screen experience first, we created a simple, yet powerful navigation that scaled beautifully across devices of any size.
K900 Experience
Interactive immersion
For the launch of Kia’s flagship luxury sedan, the K900, we created a rich, interactive experience full of explorable widgets, sliders and toggles. By creating a platform for immersive storytelling, we were able to showcase the K900’s advanced technologies comparable to cars from European automakers like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes.
All-new lineup
As part of Kia.com’s redesign, I led art direction for an all-new photography style across all vehicles. We spent several weeks in the studio experimenting with lighting, materials, angles, camera lenses, and vehicle stance to find the perfect blend of realism and pop. Vehicle hero angles were painstakingly composited from roughly thirty different exposures, highlighting every detail with absolute perfection.
